PURPOSE OF POSITION

We are now looking for an experienced Service Manager to join our team and help us continue to drive innovation.
• The Service Manager is accountable for the lifecycle experience related to all service, warranty, and telematics. They should be an experienced leader, with a strong technical aptitude and the ability to organize, train and supervise personnel. They are mentors, teachers, and motivators for their service team.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Service Department Oversight:

• Manage service work orders in EBS-Dispatch system with unique segments for each repair and corresponding job codes. Adds or adjusts segments throughout the repair cycle as necessary.
• Oversee the Service Admin’s scheduling and dispatching of service work according to priority and maintains an orderly flow of work leveraging the EBS system functionality.
• Principal accountability to oversee and ensure technician productivity and efficiency, minimize unrecovered time, rework and performance against repair quotes and SJC.
• Collaborate with the Sales team and Supervisors on equipment request forms, equipment transfers, trade-in inspections and prompt repair, and trucking loads between branches.
• Lead the adoption of Best Practices and manage the implementation throughout the service department. Such as; job codes, bar scanning, online and technology driven technical support.
• Ensure that communication between customer, technician, parts and sales are effective.
• Coordinate short and long-term service parts needs to ensure seamless and timely delivery of services.

Technical Support:

• Balance the level of tech support provided with customer need and capability while sustaining and promoting VSW services and offerings. Keeping safety and liability at the forefront.
• Recognize and promote recommended maintenance and upsell opportunities.
• Collaborate with Service Admins on machine diagnosis and needed repairs. Assist and review estimates and quotes.
• Act as initial point of contact for customer dispute or resolution.

Training:

• Oversee the on-boarding process with new service and support other personnel as needed.
• Manage the tracking of training time and support training time requirements.
• Act as primary motivator and leader of company culture within the shop – leading with a “Be Humble, Stay Hungry, Always Hustle” mentality

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

• High level of computer proficiency in Microsoft Office and EBS business operating system.
• Able to multi-task and work efficiently in a fast-paced, high demand role on a consistent basis.
• Ability to sit, stand, lift and twist repeatedly and for extended periods in both internal and external environments.
• General willingness to help others and be a team player.
• Excellent customer service skills, able to handle customer complaints, de-escalate situations, accept criticism, able to turn negative situations into positive experiences and opportunities.
• Must demonstrate excellent people management skills for both internal co-workers and subordinates as well as external customers and suppliers.
• Available on short notice to work overtime as customer demand or VSW operations dictate.
• Excellent customer service skills, able to handle customer complaints, de-escalate situations, accept criticism, able to turn negative situations into positive experiences and opportunities.

EXPERIENCE

• 3-5 years of experience as a service manager/supervisor or equivalent experience
• 3-5 years of experience with Vermeer industrial equipment or equivalent commercial, agricultural or material handling equipment
• Demonstrated expertise with Microsoft Office and EBS or equivalent business operating system
• CDL Preferred

As a construction equipment wholesale, retail and service company, our ideal candidate will provide a high level of proficiency for the repair and maintenance of heavy machinery. They will work well with a team and complete their work in a professional, timely and safe manner according to established company policies. They must be able to work overtime and on weekends as needed.

HOURS & PAY

• 7:00AM – 3:30PM; Overtime, as needed.
• 8-hour shift
• Pay: DOE  $18.00 – $30.00 per hour

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES/TASKS

• Follow blueprints to ensure exact specifications of output
• Produce strong, clean welds
• Identify, inspect, and troubleshoot needed repairs to equipment and perform repairs in a safe and timely manner
• Read and interpret drawings, diagrams, hydraulic and electric schematics
• Follow all safety rules and regulations while performing work assignments
• Show confidence and ability in the use of welding and cutting tools
• Work well in a team environment
• Lift at least 75lbs and be able to work outside in all weather conditions
• Have a basic knowledge of computers including email and Windows
• Conduct self professionally in the presence of customers and community
• Participates in available company sponsored training opportunities, including online training courses
• Perform other duties as assigned by management

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

• A complete set of tools
• CDL or Ability to obtain CDL License
• High School Graduate
• Mechanical: 1 year experience (Required)

• Salt Lake City, UT 84104: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
